Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) provides a range of community health, mental health and learning disability services for people of all ages. Delivered through over 100 settings from inpatient wards to out in the community, our 6,500 staff serves over 1m people living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for experienced Mental Health nurses to apply for Bank Band 6 CPN posts in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland

The Bank CMHT ‘s are part of the secondary care services, providing assessments and treatment packages for a range of service users aged 16-65 years, with complex mental health needs. The teams use CPA and Cluster Care Pathways with a focus on recovery.

The post holders will assist to maintain a clinical case load, fulfilling all the roles and responsibilities of a Care Coordinator. They will work effectively in the multidisciplinary team to provide high quality mental health assessments, treatment programs and manage risk. This work will involve patients and their carers in the delivery of evidence based interventions/treatments, recovery focused work.

You will need to demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to high quality care as well as possessing good therapeutic and interpersonal skills. The post holder will be required to work with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies. You will visit people in their own homes and communities as well as assisting in clinics at the team bases and other community venues.

Both teams serve a diverse population and service users come from a range of socio economic backgrounds. The Rutland and East Leicestershire CMHT serves a rural population requiring travel across county towns and villages including Melton and Oakham. Leicester is more culturally diverse with an inner city profile and the CMHT covers all areas of Leicester city. The locations of the teams both present unique challenges in meeting the mental health needs of the population.

You will have a strong sense of initiative, excellent team working ability and be an excellent communicator. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of high level nursing interventions & community assessment skills. Qualifications or a willingness to undertake training relevant to the post is expected. You will have experience of post-registration work, ideally with this client group.

You must be a qualified Mental Health Nurse registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council/Professional Health Council. You must hold a full UK driving license and be able to use a car for work purposes.

For areas where our teams work to staffing rosters, rosters are set in advance at a team level and you will be joining an established roster. Your rostered shifts will be confirmed to you when arranging your start date. We will consider requests to vary working patterns in line with our flexible working policy.
