Job Reference: 202-001-19

Employer:
South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust
Location:
Holding Pool
Salary:
£30,401 - £37,267 pa + Unsocial Hours Payment *

Join us and you’ll find an Ambulance Service that understands the better we look after you, the better equipped you’ll be to look after our patients. We listen and work with our staff to ensure a progressive, clinically advanced service which takes account of feedback, organisational learning and provides staff with the equipment and support necessary to help them fulfil their demanding roles.

Geographically we are the largest ambulance service in the country, covering one fifth of the country including some of its most beautiful and life enriching locations. Whether you crave a coastal location, the best of the British countryside or the historic cities of Bath, Exeter, Bristol and Cheltenham to name but a few, our location provides the best of everything.

Our diverse geography which includes some very remote rural communities has driven our ambition to equip all our staff with the training, support and skills they need to deliver a higher level of care, enabling more of our patients to be treated closer to home and resulting in the lowest conveyance rate across the Ambulance Sector.

Our commitment to supporting our staff is by our dedicated clinical career framework, which supports the career development of paramedics into specialist and/or managerial roles with many of our current staff in these roles having developed internally.

Applicants must have held a full driving licence for at least 1 year, with no more than6 penalty points allowed for some offences. You must also hold the C1 category on your driving licence. Applicants who already hold the IHCD Advanced Driving qualification will be prioritised, however SWASFT can provide this course if you are not yet qualified.

Interviews and assessments are scheduled at approximately 6 weekly intervals, and shortlisting will be done in line with this timescale. All candidates will be informed of the shortlisting decision, although this may be outside of the SWAST standard 4 week notification period mentioned below.

(*) Paid under Section 2 of NHS Terms and Conditions. Please see A4C Handbook attached to advert.

We are currently not recruiting overseas for this position unless candidates have the UK driving requirements and HCPC registration.

‘This position is exempted from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. This means that you must declare all criminal convictions, including those that would otherwise be considered "spent" on the attached DBS Declaration Form.’
