Senior Personal Assistant (PA)

As Senior Personal Assistant in one of our regional laboratories, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the mission of NHS Blood and Transplant to save and improve lives. Our laboratory will rely on you for comprehensive office and administrative support at a time of exciting change - and beyond.

Ensuring the smooth running of the Laboratory office, you’ll enjoy a wide range of responsibilities. These will range from preparing papers and taking minutes at meetings, through to coordinating travel and accommodation, managing the diary and gathering data from internal and external sources to inform meetings and decision making.

Along the way, you’ll liaise closely with fellow senior PAs and communicate regularly with senior personnel across the organization, to make sure progress is made on the Head of Red Cell Immunohaematology’s (RCI) agenda. Put simply, you’ll be integral to helping business transformation happen without a hitch.

To be equal to the challenge, you’ll need excellent organisational skills and proven, relevant experience in a busy office environment. You’ll bring to the role impressive skills in using the Microsoft Office suite, including the creation of Excel spreadsheets and PowerPoint presentations.

Excellent communication skills in English are vital, both in person and in writing. You should demonstrate keyboard skills supported by, or equivalent to, RSA level 2. Crucially, you’re a real team player with a passion for customer care.

This post will initially be based at Longley Lane (near the Northern General Hospital), however in Summer 2020, we will be relocating to a purpose built, state of the art premises, which is situated in Barnsley, just off Junction 37 of the M1.
