Regional Office Administrator - Organ Donation

This position provides an exciting opportunity for further development within NHS Blood and Transplant for the right person.

 

Your new role will be to provide first point of contact for the Regional Organ Donation Team through triage of telephone calls, dealing with public enquiries with regard to organ and tissue donation and referring on where necessary. You will also be responsible for the organisation of incoming/outgoing post to the Regional Organ Donation Office.

 

You will be required to liaise with key internal and external stakeholders to support the work of the regional ODSTs, arrange and attend meetings which may include agenda co-ordination, minute taking, dissemination of agendas and minutes, book travel and accommodation as required, ordering and arranging goods to support the service and ensuring maintenance of stock.

 

In addition, organising of key external meetings and events will be part of the role, as will be the creation and maintenance of managed information systems and databases to support the accuracy of documentation, preparation of correspondence, support with induction and training of staff.

 

You must be able to achieve high levels of accuracy and have excellent attention to detail. You will need to be able to maintain confidentiality, have excellent verbal and written communication skills so you are able to communicate confidential information using tact, persuasion and empathy whilst remaining calm and professional when dealing with challenging situations. You should also be self motivated, have good organisational skills, be able to cope with large volumes of work, a strong ability to take accurate minutes and action notes, competent in keyboard skills and with a good working knowledge of software packages including Microsoft Word and Excel.

 

If you have demonstrable experience in an administrative role and confidence to liaise with key stakeholders then this varied and demanding role may be for you.

From May/June 2020 you will be based at our new purpose-built site in Barnsley (Capitol Park, Higham Lane, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, S75 3FG) which is just off Junction 37 of the M1. In the meantime you will be based from Leeds for which you may be eligible to claim expenses for the duration of this temporary arrangement.
