The Leicester Children’s Hospital are inviting applications for Trust Higher specialty registrar in General and Acute Paediatrics.

The posts have been developed in order to support the delivery of high quality care to children across the Leicester Children’s Hospital. The successful candidates will join our team of Specialist Paediatric Registrars to provide a wide range of clinical services across the spectrum of general paediatrics.

The successful candidates will be working alongside the team of Paediatricians from a variety of specialities including acute and general paediatrics, paediatric intensive care and paediatric subspecialty medicine in the children’s admission unit, children’s inpatient wards and children’s outpatient department. He/she will participate in managing the care of paediatric patients at registrar level. He/she will be expected to perform clinical and non-invasive assessment of paediatric patients within an acute environment. The post will include responsibility for day to day running of the paediatric base wards, planning and implementing management under the supervision of the consultant staff and presenting cases at departmental MDT meetings. The post will also involve working in paediatric outpatients under consultant supervision.
These posts will allow successful candidates to develop their clinical skills and experience in a hospital with a track record of innovative service delivery, excellence in training and clinical research. Completion of level 1 training (or equivalent) in Paediatrics and experience of working in Paediatrics at registrar level is required, as is possession of MRCPCH or equivalent. Previous service and experience would be counted towards your salary.
