Secondment into the Infection Prevention and Control Team to support the Peer Flu vaccination programme for staff, and develop your knowledge and practice in the remit of IPC -Band 5

Are you a qualified nurse with an interest in Infection prevention and control as supporting the staff peer flu vaccination programme for 2019/20, as well as development in the speciality of infection prevention and control?

We are looking for a motivated individual who can work independently and as part of the IPC team to aid the successful delivery of the seasonal influenza campaign from the 1st October 2019 for 6 months. You will also be given the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in the remit of infection prevention and control, adding this specialist knowledge to your portfolio, and support the provision of safe clean care for our patients. You will benefit from working with a small but skilled and experienced IPC team.

You will be required to travel across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland to vaccinate our staff against influenza. You will be a qualified Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration. Experience and knowledge of the seasonal influenza campaign is preferred as the ability to educate staff and dispel perceived myths surrounding the flu vaccine is required.

You must be up to date with your basic life support, anaphylaxis training and attend the peer vaccination training.
