Wye Valley NHS Trust’s department of Medicine is recruiting to a new and additional Consultant post within the Dermatology Department which services the population of Herefordshire, Powys and Shropshire border.

We are seeking to recruit to the role of Consultant in Dermatology to support the current delivery of general clinical dermatology and skin oncology service but also the developing plans the Trust has to expand in other areas of Medicine in its quest to provide robust, acute medical cover 7 days a week, whilst still delivering high quality specialty based care and treatment.

The Department has close links with Dermatology and Skin Oncology units at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, Gloucester Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Worcestershire Acute NHS Trust Hospitals and has developed a dedicated dermatology outpatient area for our clinics, with 5 clinic rooms, a treatment room and future plans to develop to be able to perform skin biopsies there are lots of opportunities available for the right candidate.

Skin surgery, phototherapy, iontophoresis, patch-testing and photodynamic therapy clinics are all areas working within the Trust and therefore the successful applicant will work closely with 3 other Dermatology Consultants in providing general dermatology and skin oncology clinics whilst also having the opportunity to develop a special interest to complement those of other consultants in the department.

In addition to our consultant staff, our clinical team includes 3 specialty doctors, 1 clinical nurse specialist and 3 specialist nurses.
