£150 per week-year 1

Fixed Term for 3 years

1st 12 months at £150 per week and thereafter at National Minimum Wage for relevant age at that time.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 x Apprentice Trainee Respiratory Physiologist posts based in the Respiratory Physiology Department at Glenfield Hospital, Leicester. And 2 x Apprentice Trainee Cardiac Physiologist posts based in Cardiac Investigations at Glenfield Hospital.

Our Respiratory/Sleep and Cardiac service provisions encompass a full range of simple and complex Lung Function/Sleep and Cardiac assessments for mainly adult services, as well as Hypertension, Autonomic Function and Gastro Intestinal Physiology. Both departments are some of the largest and most progressive units within the field of Clinical Physiology.

If you are scientifically minded with appropriate qualifications and work experience this is an ideal opportunity for you to study, train and develop. These posts require individuals who are enthusiastic, well-motivated, possess excellent communication and organisational skills as well as a keen eye for detail, and the ability to accurately record and input information.

You will be expected to undertake administrative work and general housekeeping within your clinical area

No previous experience is necessary as full training will be given, however, the successful candidate should demonstrate an understanding of the role, as there will be assessments on the day of the interview. Therefore all interested candidates are strongly encouraged to visit the departments. You will also be asked if you have a preferred option.

These posts are on a 3 year fixed term contract to start on £150/week, which will increase to national minimum wage in years 2 and 3. You will attend university on a day release basis gaining a BSc in Healthcare Science Practitioner degree (Respiratory/Sleep or Cardiac)
