Senior Clinical Fellow in Chemical Pathology

 

Duration: 6 months with potential extension

 

Anticipated Start Date: ASAP

 

Based at the Royal Gwent Hospital

 

Applications are invited for a fixed term Senior Clinical Fellow (SpR level) based in the Biochemistry Department at the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport. The successful applicant will work alongside the Consultant Chemical Pathologist and Clinical Scientists in the Department with a range of clinical and laboratory duties. This post would be ideal for those wishing to train in Chemical Pathology either via the ST or CESR route.

 

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) is administratively divided into nine Divisions. Pathology is one of a number of Directorates within the Scheduled Care Division. The Pathology Directorate contains the specialities of Histopathology, Cytopathology, Haematology (Clinical Haematology has moved to Cancer Services) Chemical Pathology and Microbiology. The Director for Pathology is appointed by and directly accountable to the Divisional Director.

 

 

 

This position involves Regulated Activity with Adults as defined by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (amended by the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012) and the following checks will be undertaken following any conditional offer:

 

    • Enhanced check with barred list information, including

 

    • - an adults barred list check

 

Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold full registration and a licence to practice with the GMC.
