Our purpose is to save and improve lives. We are responsible for optimising the safety and supply of blood, organs, stem cells and tissues and matching them to patients and helping to raise the quality, effectiveness and clinical outcomes of blood and transplant services. To support these activities, it is essential that we work within an efficient and effective Quality Management System.

We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Officer to join our Quality Assurance (QA) Team within the QA Directorate, to be based at Manchester Blood Centre. The role of the Quality Assurance Officer is to provide advice and support in the use of our quality systems. You will also assist in monitoring our quality system on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that all licensing and accreditation activities are undertaken as they should be.

In addition, you will support the delivery of essential training to staff and monitor quality system performance across the organisation (including Blood Supply, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services). A key activity will be the facilitation and management of the Incident Management system, in collaboration with internal and external business users.

This post will be part of the newly implemented QA Direct Team, and will report to the National QA Manager – Service Delivery (NQAM-SD). The QA Direct Team provides remote support to the organisation nationally.

Desirably educated to degree level, you'll need to demonstrate additional training and experience in Quality Management, having a good understanding of quality systems and experience within a structured quality assurance environment. Add to that excellent interpersonal skills and you could be our ideal candidate.
