This is an exciting time for both Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. With the arrival of a new Chief Pharmacist at each organisation and subsequent workforce reviews, both Solent NHS Trust and Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust have identified a need for leadership within antimicrobial stewardship.

We are excited to offer the opportunity for an 8a Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist to join the team at Solent NHS Trust. Your role will work in partnership between the two Trusts with your time being equally shared between the two organisations. The respective Chief pharmacists are already working in close partnership and you will be accountable to both as you form an antimicrobial stewardship strategy for the two Mental Health and Community Trusts across the Hampshire STP.

You will be actively involved in strategic planning, education, training, surveillance and governance of antimicrobial usage. Within each Trust you will support the clinical pharmacists and multidisciplinary teams to deliver the plan for reducing antimicrobial resistance (AMR). With more than 50% of infections occurring outside the hospital setting across the UK, your role will be key to developing Community Health strategies for AMR. You will also be an active member of the South Coast Antimicrobial Network Group representing the Mental Health and Community Trusts.
