Band 2

Salary Scale:

£17,460 - £18,702 pa

General Porter 37.5 Hours. Shift system in operation including weekends, Nights, Bank Holidays


The role of porter is highly valued and you will be an essential part of the hospital team providing a comprehensive service. Duties will include the transfer of patients between wards and departments, on-site ambulance duties, Car Parking duties, Post rounds, collection of path-lab samples, delivery of reports, delivery and collection of linen, Clinical and other waste, including compacting waste, and bailing of cardboard, delivery’s may include stores around site. Delivery of patient food, collecting and disposal of waste food. Security patrols. Duties will also include some night duties. All shifts include Bank Holiday rota working.


Previous experience in a hospital or customer focused role is essential. Previous experience as a Porter is desirable but not essential as full training is given.


If you are able to carry out manual duties, such as pushing trolleys Delivery of large items, furniture moves etc, and enjoys communicating with patients and their relatives; we want to hear from you. Applicants must hold a full clean Full driving licence.
