Full Time (37.5 hours per week)

Royal Papworth is moving to a State-of-the-Art New Hospital in 2018 and in preparation we are looking to expand our team.

New Royal Papworth will be based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CBC), alongside some of the world’s most acclaimed medical and education institutions including Cambridge University, Astra Zeneca and Addenbrookes Hospital and has easy access to the historic and picturesque Cambridge City Centre with many opportunities for affordable housing and excellent facilitates.

What is a Cath Lab Nurse?

We are a dynamic and enthusiastic team who assist with angioplasties, valvuloplasties, stent placements, implant pacemakers and implantable cardioverter- defibrillators (ICDs) as well as many other procedures.

The Cardiology/Cath Labs department comprises of: 5 Angiography suites and a 6th hybrid suite (in the new Hospital) a Bronchoscopy suite as well as provide essential care to our acute patients via our PPCI service.

You might have just qualified, or be looking for a change or new challenge; you do not need to have previous Cath Lab or Bronchoscopy experience to join our team as we will provide comprehensive training. So if you are a dynamic, enthusiastic Nurse who wants to gain experience with us then come and join our highly motivated friendly team. We are recruiting now and are looking for Band 5 Staff Nurses in readiness for the big move.

This post will initially be based in Papworth Everard and then will be based at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus when the Hospital moves.

Selection Day takes place from 08:45 until 16:00. The selection process includes a medicine safety & calculation assessment, a written exercise, a clinical scenario assessment, group and individual interviews.

There is a£1,000 welcome payment for all Band 5 posts upon starting.
