Pay Rates

Day rate: £19.10 per hour paid weekly

Night/Saturday rate: £24.56 per hour paid weekly

Sunday/Bank Holiday rate: £30.02 per hour paid weekly

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust provides specialist mental health and community health services to a population of around 900,000 within Berkshire. Operating more than 100 sites across the county including community hospitals, clinics and specialist practices, they also provide care and therapy to people in their own homes. A vast majority of BHNFT patients are cared for and supported in their ow homes, however, the trust also have 216 mental health inpatient beds and 180 community hospital beds in five locations.

NHS Professionals works in partnership with Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust to manage and provide their temporary staffing requirements. We are an integral partner to the trust to ensure staffing numbers are sufficient to provide the care within the county

NHS Professionals are seeking Band 6 Registered Community Psychiatric Nurses to join the bank and work on a flexible basis, supporting various sites across Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. Hours and shift are offered on a fully flexible basis, full or part time!

Supporting the community mental health team, you will be working with patients with a variety of severe and complex mental health difficulties within the community to assess provide the relevant care plans. The team will also work with and offer support to carers and family members through education therapy and where appropriate refer patients to other services and support groups.

The will work with the wider team to ensure that care plans meet individual needs by assessing and addressing individual challenges being faced. Treatments can include;

• psychological interventions such as cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy and cognitive analytical therapy
• pharmaceutical interventions such as anti-psychotic and anti-depressant medication
• social interventions such as addressing recreation, employment, housing and finance issues

Within the team, you will work with a variety of professionals from a range of disciplines including psychiatrists, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers and administrative staff.

In order to apply for a post you must:

  • Have a minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role (clinical based care support) held within the last 2 years
  • Have good communication skills and demonstrate evidence of a strong team working ethic.
  • You must be able to take direction and instruction and be honest and trustworthy
  • Proven track record working independently in a community based role
