Are you looking for a job in Surrey as a Speech and Language Therapist? Want to work for a forward thinking, innovative organisation which puts its children at the centre of care?

Then why not join us at First Community! We’re within easy reach of London, and Surrey offers a great balance between the buzz of a capital city and green countryside. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Speech and Language Therapist, with a specialist interest in working with Preschool children (under 5 years of age) and their families, to join our supportive and creative team.

You will work as a member of our well established and friendly Early Years Team. This is a challenging, varied and rewarding role. Day to day you will be conducting assessments, writing reports and running therapy sessions (groups or individual) for a varied population of 0-5 year olds including children with Language disorders and delays, Social Communication Disorders, Speech difficulties, stammering, Down Syndrome, general delay and much more. You may work from a variety of settings (e.g. Health centres, Children’s Centres, nurseries and patient’s homes).

As part of your role, you may also be involved in:

-Conducting Multi-disciplinary assessments

-Delivering training to parents, Health Visitors or nursery/school staff

Our team also works with specialist caseloads for school aged children (aged 0-19) including children who stammer, children with an acquired brain injury and voice, so it may be possible to work with these groups, depending on your experience, interests and the needs of the service.

We firmly believe that the best services for the children we serve come out of effectively training and supporting our Therapists. As such you will be supported by the following:

-Regular supervision with your designated experienced Speech and Language Therapist

-A rolling programme of in-house training to update your knowledge and skills throughout the year (including ‘ASD diagnosis’, ‘Stammering’, ‘Using Parent Child Interaction’, ‘Writing EHCPs’, ‘Attention Autism’, to name but a few).

-Local journal club run by and for the SLT team within SE Surrey

-Working as part of a fantastic team, who share challenges and celebrate successes together

-As a team, we all need to be able to travel between sites across Surrey, therefore being a car driver and owner is essential.

If you think this role is for you then please make an application. If you want to find out more or have any questions about the role then please contact Becky Domingues.
