We have an exciting opportunity for a Genetic Clinical Facilitator role in the Wessex Clinical Genetics Service at the University Hospitals Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). This is an excellent opportunity to join our established and dynamic genetic pre-clinic work up team.

ABOUT THE TEAM

Wessex Clinical Genetics Service is a regional specialist service providing a high quality genetic counselling service (General/ Cancer& Prenatal) and consultancy for a population of three million in the Wessex Region (Hants, Dorset, South Wilts and Isle of Wight). We are an innovative centre and have been appointed as a Genomic Medicine Centre as part of the 100,000 genome project. We are committed to professional development and education.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

This varied role will involve :

- Preparing and gathering of clinical and family history to assist in genetic counsellor or consultant appointments with appropriate triage of referrals.

- Screening notes and post-clinic paperwork to gather relevant clinical and family data post clinic at request of clinician.

- Being a point of contact for genetic counsellors, geneticists and patients for day-to-day enquires or urgent information gathering
