Director of HR and OD

Job Reference: 847-A-18-1370

Spectrum Community Health

Spectrum Community Health CIC is a community owned, award winning health provider. Our recent success at The British Journal of Nursing and the Nursing Times Awards demonstrates our policy of innovation and continuous improvement, and is testimony to our committed and talented teams. As a Social Enterprise our profits are reinvested into our staff and services, and we benefit from being independent, large enough to provide a level of security, yet small enough to be able to make things happen.

Our multi-disciplinary teams provide specialist healthcare services in the North East and North West of England, and around Yorkshire. We have established markets in Health and Justice, Sexual Health and Substance Misuse, and we have just been awarded three new contracts which are being mobilised at the present time. For further details of our services, please follow the link to our website.

As a Board member and a member of the Executive Team, you will play in integral role in the strategic management of Spectrum, with specific responsibility for the HR, OD, Learning and Development, Communications and Wellbeing services.

You will lead on the design and implementation of the HR,OD and Communication strategy and through your line reports you will provide an excellent service, which supports Spectrum's strategic and operational plans to deliver new care models, improve our efficiency and achieve contractual goals with added social value. Passionate about staff wellbeing, you will ensure retention of the Public Health England Workplace Wellness Charter status by leading initiatives across the organisation.

You will be integral in promoting and realising our aim of delivering innovative healthcare services which provide genuine and significant social value. Acting as one of the organisation’s most senior ambassadors for ‘quality without compromise’ you will inspire our staff to be ‘better than the best’ and ensure quality is integral and at the heart of what we do for our clients.

You will be qualified to level 7 CIPD or equivalent, and have held a position as a Head of HR, Deputy Director, or Director in a similar fast moving, customer focused organisation. You will have demonstrable experience of fostering collaborative working, of designing and delivering effective OD interventions and of service and policy development and managing system wide change.

The post is based in Wakefield, but travel will be required around our estate.

If you are successful in being offered a position with Spectrum, which involves working with patients, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check.

The post holder will be expected to undertake safeguarding training (Children and Adults) appropriate to their role and adhere to policies and procedures relevant to the area they work in.

You will receive an excellent salary and benefits package, including NHS Pension. You will also have the opportunity to influence our growing organisation.
