We are delighted to invite candidates to apply to work with us in this dynamic and expanding Respiratory Medicine department in the beautiful city of York. We are looking to expand a number of services, including lung cancer, asthma, ILD and bronchiectasis, as well as increasing general respiratory cover. We therefore welcome applicants with a broad range of sub-specialty interests.

Candidates will contribute to the General Medical on-call rota, though in the longer-term, a separate respiratory on-call rota and an on-ward/off-ward working pattern is envisaged, which will facilitate further development of sub-specialist interests.

The department and Trust both offer a welcoming and dynamic working environment, with opportunities to participate in teaching medical students from the Hull York Medical School (HYMS) and research projects.

This post offers the opportunity to live and work in North Yorkshire, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The Trust’s location allows easy access to the outstanding countryside of the Yorkshire Dales, Moors and coast. It has excellent schools, many rated as “outstanding” by OFSTED, as well as excellent transport links, being 2 hours from London and 30 minutes from Leeds by train.

The post is based at York Hospital, and we welcome whole-time, part-time or job-share applications. We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and dynamic individuals who will work well within the team to develop inpatient and outpatient services. In line with service provision discussions there may be scope for additional capacity which will be clarified during the recruitment process to potential candidates.

The Trust also offers an excellent Staff Benefits package to all employees, which includes salary sacrifice schemes and local discounts/offers . In addition you will receive an excellent Study leave package and support your professional development.
