Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust (LPT) provides a range of community health, mental health and learning disability services for people of all ages. Delivered through over 100 settings from inpatient wards to out in the community, our 6,500 staff serves over 1m people living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.


This is a full time post (37.5 Hours) delivering an essential administrative role within a busy Community Long Term Condition Team. The Long Term Condition Team is multi-disciplinary and includes the Heart Failure Specialist Nurse Team, The Respiratory Specialist Team and Breathlessness Rehabilitation.

Reporting to: Integrated Cardio-Respiratory Services Lead

The post holder will work towards achieving a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship education programme. The post holder will have the opportunity to access work and earn a wage as they learn “on the job”. It also helps us harness fresh new talent and “grow our own” workforce for the future. Being an apprentice is often the first step to a career in the NHS. It is an opportunity for you to experience work, study, and learn new skills

An adaptable person is required to provide a competent and efficient administrative support to the Community Long Term Condition Administration Team to include administration associated with Breathlessness Rehabilitation

The post holder will demonstrate a caring and sensitive approach to their work and be able to clearly communicate with colleagues, the general public and representatives from the clinical services, general practices, acute hospitals and allied organisations.

Excellent organisational skills and an ability to work flexibly and to be able to use own initiative is vital. Essential skills required to the post include: the ability to prioritise tasks; effective time management; excellent IT and administration skills, good communication; written and verbal, interpersonal and organisational skills.

It is essential that the post holder is competent in Word and Excel and other Microsoft-based software and they will receive training to use the patient records on SystmOne.

For areas where our teams work to staffing rosters, rosters are set in advance at a team level and you will be joining an established roster. Your rostered shifts will be confirmed to you when arranging your start date. We will consider requests to vary working patterns in line with our flexible working policy.

For all substantive roles the appointment of every new member of staff (excluding medical and dental staff) to a post is subject to a 6 month probationary period, details of which are in our Probation Policy.
