Sister/Charge Nurse
Maxillo-Facial & Orthodontic Department

Hours: 24 hours per week
Band: 6 (Development to band 7)
Salary: £30,401 - £37,267 per annum (pro rata)

Essential requirements: NMC registration

This is a unique opportunity for an established band 6 nurse to gain additional skill sets and formal qualifications and join a team of highly motivated and specially trained nurses.

The post holder will ideally hold a RDN and RCN qualification or be willing tosuccessfully complete an (approx.) two year training programme in Dental Nursing and Orthodontic Nursing before progressing to the Band 7 Manager role.

We are a busy Maxillo–Facial and Orthodontic Department and our specialised area delivers a wide range of services to patients across many specialities. These range from the surgical treatment of head and neck skin cancers, extra and intra oral complications, mouth cancer and deformitiesand tooth extractions in medically compromised patients. We also assess and treat patients requiring Orthodontic and restorative intervention.

An interest in head and neck surgery is vital and a willingness to learn and develop your skills by undertaking further qualifications is essential. This role is for a highly motivated individual who is able to understand patients with dental phobias and complex needs. Working well within a team and good communication skills are key to this role.
