Job Reference: J185-A-18-1239

Priory Medical Group
£8,363.68 p/session p/year

GP Research Lead

4-6 session clinical post + 2 sessions research-training post as Principle Investigator (PI)

Not a typical GP Practice. Not the typical Doctors’ experience

Are you looking for a role where you spend more time with patients and less with paperwork? Are you looking for a role with research opportunities?

TESTIMONY OF A SALARIED GP “I have been a salaried GP for 3 years and came straight to Priory after finishing VTS. I found the frequent reviews in my first year extremely helpful as it meant I could quickly address elements of the job that I was finding difficult. This stopped those elements snowballing! It also meant that I got to know my supervisor well; this was a big support and continues to be now. I have benefitted hugely from the very open culture at PMG - our daily meetings are a very safe space to ask questions or raise issues (clinical or otherwise).

Is this the role for you?

Do you want to spend less time with paperwork and more time with patients? Do you practice with a reflective, self-critical and evidence-based approach? Do you have a background or specialist interest in research or a willingness to learn?

As Principle Investigator for the practice, you would be provided with protected time to attend regional research meetings, evaluate both NHS and Commercial Trials for the practice. With over 57,000 patients, Priory Medical Group (PMG) has a large patient population from which to recruit and works closely with the NIHR (national institute for Health research). PMG is supported by a Research Co-ordinator, for patient recruitment and a dedicated Research Nurse.

What we look for in your application:

Specifically, we’re looking a GP who genuinely believes in the family doctor ethos and is:

  • Reflective, self-critical and seeking to practice evidence-based medicine
  • Comfortable with a broad spectrum of primary care, disease management and prevention
  • Interested in setting a new standard in primary care and being part of a change movement
  • Active interest in supporting our Skill Rich Team, including ACPs, UCPs, PAs and students.
  • Wanting to spend time with patients, not paperwork
  • Comfortable with information technology
  • Hold and effect full GMC membership
  • Be able to provide satisfactory references

So are you in?
