Innovative cellular and molecular therapies are starting the transform the way we treat cancer and other life-threatening conditions. Through our network of state of the art facilities, we are at the forefront of developing and manufacturing these new therapies for early phase clinical trials. The delivery of these new therapies into the NHS builds on our extensive expertise supporting more established stem cell transplantation therapies for malignant and inherited haematological disorders.

 

Working with scientific and medical professionals, you will develop and manufacture life-saving cell and gene therapies. To start with, we will provide you with an extensive induction and training programme. This will provide you with the skills and knowledge you will need to develop and produce cell therapies for established applications as well as first in man studies.

 

Ideally you’ll have experience of working in a GMP environment with laboratory techniques such as flow cytometry and cell culture, and/or experience of aseptic cell processing techniques in a clean room environment.

The core working hours for this role are 10:00-18:00, on a fixed term basis for 12 months, however some flexibility in working hours will be required according to the nature of the work. Secondments may be considered for existing NHSBT staff who satisfy the experience profile and wish to apply for this role, however, you must discuss the possibility of a secondment with your current line manager.
