Community Team Lead – Band 7

There is an opportunity for a dynamic, experienced midwife (minimum Band 6) to become the Team Lead for the Beaumont and Meridian city teams within UHL Maternity Services.

This post requires a motivated, positive and inspirational leader to encourage and support the midwives who work in the challenging city teams to be forward thinking and dynamic.

The city has many challenges with Leicester's diverse population and social concerns in some areas that are supported by the Specialist team.

UHL are working towards improved continuity of care by March 2019/20 as recommended by “Better Births” The Community teams offers excellent continuity for women throughout their pregnancy and birth and you will be required to audit and create reports to the senior management team.

The Meridian team is linked to the Orchard Birth Centre, the women are offered a 36 week risk assessment at the Birth Centre and we are exploring providing new antenatal classes to enable women to meet the hospital team as well as the community team.

You will be required to liaise with the other Team Leaders and the low risk Birth Centre manager.

The post holder will be required to manage a number of staff, ensuring appraisal rates are consistently within the acceptable levels, mandatory training levels are met and personal development of staff is supported through lifelong learning.

You will be required to monitor absence from work and complete sickness reviews for the teams you manage.

Budget management skills to ensure the costs to the CCG are appropriately managed to ensure valuable resources are retained will be required.

This areas will need a visible leader to monitor the clinical and pastoral care offered to women to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.

You will be required to ensure that the teams can safely provide an excellent resource for learning for students.
