Cardiology Consultant

10 PAs per week (Two positions available)


We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our Cardiology team.

HDFT is a “double excellent” Foundation Trust and is the principal provider of hospital services to the population of Harrogate, Ripon and the surrounding rural district. It has a catchment population of 185,000 and is one of the highest performing NHS Trusts in the UK.

The Spa town of Harrogate is surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the Yorkshire Dales whilst the cities of Leeds and York are conveniently close by. Harrogate offers beautiful public spaces and a wide range of leisure opportunities. There are award winning bars and restaurants, excellent sports facilities and numerous opportunities for outdoor activities. There is also an excellent choice of outstanding local schools and Harrogate regularly tops league tables in terms of happiest / best places to live in the county making, Harrogate an ideal place to relocate to as a family.

This is an exciting time to join to join our friendly, well-established and innovative multi-disciplinary team with a recently redeveloped and extended Cardio respiratory department, new clinic rooms and new equipment. The Cardiology department is a focus for the Trust and we are keen to support, expand and develop this service, with further expansion in mind we are looking to appoint a dynamic, motivated and ambitious Cardiologist to contribute to and help to lead the development of an Inherited Cardiac Conditions service.

Our highly skilled Cardiology Team consists of Consultants, Specialist nurses, Cardiac rehab nurses, Specialist Registrars, Cardio/Respiratory Physiologists, Heart Failure Nurses and a Lead cardiology Nurse.  Additionally, we work closely with the Leeds Teaching Hospitals in our region.
