Solent Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (Southampton) are expanding their Nurse Prescribing team and seeking to recruit a highly motivated nurse, with a passion for children and young people’s mental health.

You will be joining a multi-disciplinary CAMHS teaching team with established nurse prescribing roles and governance structures. The role will be predominantly working within our ADHD pathway which is headed up by our Nurse Consultant in ADHD.Alongside this role you will be expected to contribute to core CAMHS clinical delivery activities such as the offering of initial assessments to children and young people newly referred to the service.

You will need to have recent relevant experience of working with children and young people with ADHD and/or mental health difficulties; this may not be within a Community CAMHS setting. We are open to hearing from candidates who either currently hold their nurse prescribing qualification, or who are currently completing their training.

Successful applicants will need to evidence their commitment to clinical quality, evidence-based practice and maintaining high professional standards for themselves and others. You will demonstrate a child centered approach to care, putting families first alongside a passion for meeting the complex needs of children and young people with ADHD and their families. The successful candidate will also be expected to evidence their commitment to developing strong partnerships with colleagues across agencies for the benefit of children and young people.

It is an exciting time to join our team as we move forward with our transformation plans to best meet the mental health needs of children, young people and their families in Southampton. As a senior nurse you will be expected to play a key role in integrating nursing and prescribing practice within the broader multi-disciplinary team and contributing to the ongoing development and review of our evidence based care pathways.

Please get in contact with Cathy Laver Bradbury (Nurse Consultant) on 0300 123 6661 or for an informal discussion. We look forward to hearing from you.
