Chief Cardiac Physiologist – Echo - Band 7

Our Trust is based across three hospitals in the exciting, multicultural city of Leicester, in the heart of England. We are one of the largest tertiary Cardiac Departments in the UK, providing a full range of standard and complex, invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests. We routinely perform complex interventional techniques on adult and congenital/paediatric patients.

Our Adult Echocardiography work encompasses a wide variety of pathologies and includes

1 Valve replacements inc TAVI’s
2 Complex repairs
3 Left ventricular re-modelling.
4 Heart failure studies,
5 Ventricular Dyssynchrony assessments for bi-ventricular pacing.

Future developments to extend the scope of practice for Physiologists roles to support service expansion are being pro-actively progressed at the Trust in areas such as Stress Echo (Dobutamine & Exercise), TOE and Valve Surveillance Clinics.

For the Chief (Band 7) post you will have full BSE accreditation with a minimum relevant years post qualification experience. *Applications will be considered from individuals who are in the process of working towards or considering undertaking BSE accreditation. This is an ideal opportunity for STP trainee due to qualify in 2020 with Echo as their chosen specialism.

The candidate should have drive, enthusiasm, proven organisational skills, be an effective communicator, have initiative, possess negotiation, persuasion and influencing skills and have the ability to work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team. Participation in a pro rata on-call service is required. Clean UK driving licence.

All candidates should be (or eligible) on the voluntary RCCP register.
