The Leicester Diabetes is a national and internationally renowned diabetes research centre with a very active portfolio of trials ranging from single site academic studies to complex intervention and multi-site CTIMPS. We also lead and host a number of key research initiatives and programmes such as a CLAHRC, BRC, Healthcare Professional Training, the East Midlands BME Centre, and the national DESMOND structured education programme. Our multi-site disciplinary team comprises over 140 researchers, managers, clinicians and academics and our research focus is the screening, prevention and management of type 2 diabetes and associated risk factors. Our work has informed national policy and our implementation programmes have a direct impact on patient health outcomes. We are a dynamic and progressive team who are passionate about our research and how it can benefit not only our local population but for people who have diabetes at a national and international level.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Research Administrator to work on a study called CODEC – this is a study looking at whether type 2 diabetic patients are morning or evening types of people and how that affects their diabetes. The post holder will support the Trial Manager in all aspects of study delivery including booking participants (via email and phone) for their study measurement sessions, preparing documentation for data collection, inputting of research data, producing appointment/results letters, booking rooms and T/C equipment, minute taking, ordering of supplies and logging study expenditure.

We are looking for someone with experience of working in an administration environment, who is computer literate and has good organisational skills. Experience in a research environment would be advantageous.

The post offers a great opportunity for those who wish to build on their existing experience in research or someone looking to develop their careers in this area.

You will be part of a well-established research team which offers a friendly and supportive work environment and will have access to relevant learning and training opportunities to support your development in post.

This position is fixed term for one year in the first instance and will be offered at 15 hours over two days (2 x 7.5hr days) or three days (3 x 5hr days) on Monday & Tuesday or Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday.
