Lead Nurse

Essential Requirements: Registered Nurse with current NMC registration

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced ED Nurse to be the HDFT Emergency Department Lead Nurse. Whilst the successful candidate needs to be able to demonstrate high level managerial and clinical leadership skills, ongoing professional and personal support will be provided by the Matron and other members of the ED Management Team.

Repeated national patient experience surveys have shown our Emergency Department to be one the best in the country and we aim to be even better. If you are looking to lead a great Team which aims to maintain and build upon the high standards of patient care then HDFT is the place for you.

The ED Lead Nurse’s role will be made up of approximately 40% managerial and 60% clinical duties. The post-holder will provide highly visible clinical support and supervision to junior members of the team throughout their rostered shifts. Although the working hours will be predominantly Monday to Friday, some out of hours cover will be required

Expertise in Unscheduled / Emergency care is essential, and the successful applicant must have completed mentorship in practice or equivalent, and hold a degree or be studying towards degree.

The post-holder will be required to support the organisation’s band 7 weekend roster on a rolling rota (approx. one weekend in 3 months) which is a great opportunity for professional development
