Summary of Post:

The Post holder should preferably have experience of working in similar work environment and previous secretarial/administration experience is essential due to the demands of the role.

The post holder will be part of an administration team to the service/Consultant/Manager also working with clinical colleagues to ensure a high standard of administration support is in place at all times. A good knowledge of Microsoft packages and typing qualifications are essential for this role.


Key skills:


  • Secretarial/administrative experience working within a team or individually

  • Experience in a customer / patient and service user focused environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal Skills

  • A good understanding of Patient Information Systems i.e. RIO (training will be given)

  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office including WORD and typing qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Minute taking skills.

  • Ability to be self-directed, motivated and be able to contribute positively within a team

  • Well organised, structured, able to use own initiative and keep to strict deadlines

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate flexibility and provide agreed levels of support to maintain cover in the absence of other secretarial/administrative staff.

The post holder will be able to demonstrate the ability to deal with possible exposure to highly distressing or highly emotional circumstances and will be expected to ensure they participate on all relevant training courses appropriate to the role.


You should currently hold the required level of qualifications, as outlined in the Essential Criteria of the Personal Specification. If you do not meet this criteria you will not be shortlisted.
