An exciting Band 6 opportunity has arisen on Ward 12 at the Leicester Royal Infirmary. We are currently looking for a full time registered nurse with a specific interest in Paediatrics, Respiratory and High dependency care to join our Deputy Sister team.

Ward 12 is a 12 bedded high dependency unit. We are a dynamic department with a friendly, hard-working and supportive approach. We provide level 2 high dependency care to a wide variety of children with specialist and complex care needs. Ward 12 specialises in respiratory conditions ranging from acute Asthma to patients requiring a Tracheostomy and Long-term Ventilation care. We also care for patients following elective ENT surgery and a variety of complex medical conditions.

We are looking to offer a permanent position within the team. As part of your role you will share in the responsibility for training, education and development of our nursing team whilst gaining skills in sickness and absence management, risk assessment and problem solving. You will be encouraged to participate in nurse led initiatives alongside ensuring a high standard of safe and effective care is delivered to our patients/families/carers. You will need to be passionate, have good communication and be able to work well within a challenging environment and within the multidisciplinary team, in-keeping with the Leicester Royal Infirmary trust values. You must have experience in paediatrics and be flexible to commit to shift working covering day, night and weekend working.
