A unique opportunity to join the educational and assessment team within the National School of Healthcare Science. The role will allow you to gain experience from working with a highly skilled team of educational specialists as they shape the End-Point Assessment (EPA) for healthcare scientist (HCS) apprenticeships in the NHS.

Hosted by Health Education England, the National School of Healthcare Science works with education providers and NHS organisations across the UK to oversee the implementation of the new and existing training programmes developed for scientists working in the NHS scientists at all levels

You will work with the EPA Manager, the Head of Assessment and the Training Programme Director for Under-graduates and HCS apprenticeships to ensure timely delivery of assessments and results for apprentices in healthcare science.

This role will require you to undertake a range of administration duties to register the details of all apprentices requiring assessment; liaise with employers to book an assessment; confirm availability of a local assessor; provide resources; and process results. The role requires someone who pays attention to detail, and has a commitment to quality, in order to: create and work with large datasets that record details about apprentices, NHS and private employers, assessors, assessment results and assessment resources (such as written test questions and answers).

You will demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills in order to respond to queries from apprentices, employers, and assessors, ensuring a high quality of customer service are delivered at all times.

The post holder will also be involved in supporting the Education and Assessment Team as well as other teams in order for the School to deliver its remit, adding further interest and challenge to the role.

Educated to degree level or equivalent with a good knowledge of education and assessment the successful candidate will bring enthusiasm, drive and commitment to help to deliver the EPA assessment agenda within the School.

The School is based in Birmingham but there will be a requirement to travel and stay at venues nationally so the post holder should expect to work flexibly as required.
