Band 6 Trainee Clinical Practitioner - £30,401 to £37,267 per annum pro rata.

Our department strategy to improve the care of emergency patients across UHL is in action, and the post holder will join and enhance an established team that has been created to serve the needs of patients attending the Emergency Department. The clinical teams will be working within a new, purpose-built facility that has specific design features to cater for the needs of frail older patients, particularly those with cognitive impairments. One of the key aspects of this facility is the co-location of the acute frailty assessment units with the main Emergency Department, forming part of a new Emergency Floor.

The Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) will work within agreed protocols and guidelines exercising independent judgement in history taking, examination, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a diverse and undetermined caseload of patients with emergency presentations who may have highly complex acute presentations to the more minor common illnesses and injuries.

We have an established team of fully qualified ACPs, and are now encouraging applications from ACPs in training, or those with relevant skills looking to move into a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner Role. The right candidate will be supported through a Masters programme at the local HEI, and follow a structured framework of development to progress over three years into a full ACP role.
