Renal Technical Services at Morriston Hospital have a vacancy for an experienced band 6 Senior Medical Engineering Technologist - Renal Dialysis


Applicants with related electronics/engineering knowledge, skills and equipment training, but insufficient NHS experience may be considered for employment initially at a lower band 5 level pending satisfactory further training, experience and membership of the register of clinical technologists


The technical team is responsible for the repair and maintenance of a large fleet of Baxter and Fresenius equipment used within the hospital's dialysis units, burns unit, cardiac centre and ITU. The team is also responsible for the large home dialysis patient population covering an area extending from Bridgend in the east to Pembroke in the west and north to Machynlleth.


The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a wide range of technical support for all renal dialysis equipment, water treatment and associated equipment across the West Wales area to ensure compliance to national standards and guidelines. We are seeking a self-motivated, pro-active team player who can demonstrate excellent organisational, communication and problem solving skills. and as a result should be qualified to Degree/HND/HNC level in Electronic Engineering or a related subject, or have appropriate extensive experience within the field of haemodialysis.


The successful candidate will also participate in our on call rota to provide a 24hr/365day a year emergency on call service.


The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
