Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust provides a range of community health services for both physical and mental health conditions, as well as a range of specialist services supporting people of all ages including family and young people services, mental health, learning disabilities and physical health community and inpatient services.

We deliver services to the people of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. Our 5500 staff serve a population of one million from over 100 sites across the region.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 clinician to join our excellent community respiratory and rehabilitation team in Leicestershire and lead the pulmonary and heart failure rehabilitation service.

The role includes leading and managing the community based pulmonary and heart failure rehabilitation service across Leicestershire. The post also includes clinical work delivering pulmonary and heart failure rehab and individual home visits. The rehabilitation team currently consists of physiotherapists and technical instructors but may also include nurses, occupational therapists and other AHPs in the future.

The rehabilitation team lead will be expected to manage and take overall responsibility for the care, quality, performance and clinical activity of the pulmonary and heart failure rehab service. They will be expected to provide professional leadership, clinical advice and management support for the pulmonary and heart failure rehabilitation team and service. The post holder will carry responsibility and professional and managerial accountability for the management of staff, financial budgets and the quality and standards of practice of all members of the team. The rehabilitation team lead will be expected to represent the service and wider long term conditions team at local and regional meetings and deputise where appropriate for the clinical manager for integrated cardiorespiratory services.

The successful applicant will work within a multi-disciplinary team and be supported by the clinical manager for integrated cardiorespiratory services and also the leads for the respiratory service and heart failure service. The post is permanent and will involve travel across Leicestershire to provide rehabilitation in several locations and attend relevant meetings.

Applicants need to be motivated and enthusiastic with excellent communication skills. Applicants need to demonstrate motivation and commitment to providing high quality patient centre care and patient education. Experience of working with respiratory patients and within pulmonary and/or cardiac rehabilitation is essential. Expert knowledge of pulmonary and heart failure rehabilitation and national and local guidelines which impact on respiratory care is expected. Previous leadership and managerial experience is also essential as well as experience in leading or playing a role in service development.

This role is suitable for physiotherapists, nurses, occupational therapists or any other suitably qualified and trained AHPs.

The community respiratory and rehabilitation team is currently going through an exciting period of service development and growth so this position is an excellent opportunity for someone to lead the pulmonary and heart failure rehabilitation team through this period and grow and develop alongside it.
