Solent NHS Trust provides community and mental health services in Portsmouth, Southampton and Hampshire. As part of the development of the Trust’s Commercial Team, an exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Lead to support implementation of the Trust’s procurement and contracting strategy.

You will be a qualified procurement professional, with an in-depth knowledge of the end-to-end procurement life cycle and practical experience of running procurement processes and providing guidance to colleagues. Experience of category management would also be beneficial. The successful candidate will have detailed knowledge of Public Procurement Regulations, contract management experience and a keen understanding of the need for effective governance and risk management.

You should be enthusiastic, confident and self-driven with the ability to develop and lead relationships with internal and external stakeholders across health, local government and the voluntary sector, in a constantly changing environment. Excellent communication skills are fundamental to this role and you will possess effective interpersonal skills and the ability to convey and adapt information effectively and persuasively.
