About the challenge

 

You will be nationally responsible for the management of the Donor Planning Service, which operates from three regional sites in Sheffield, Birmingham and Tooting. The national department, which is regionally based schedules over 11,000 mobile blood donation sessions and 6,200 sessions based in our 25 Donor Centres all aligned to our three manufacturing sites. We are also the guardian of blood donation venue information, ensuring that all activity related to venue availability, suitability, and contact information is discharged in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).

 

Reporting to the Assistant Director Donor Relationship Services, you will be integral to the senior Donor Relationship Services team and will lead on developing supply chain improvements with manufacturing sites, co-ordinating formal programmes in support of service improvement initiatives. It is a demanding role requiring significant communication throughout the organisation but more specifically across the blood and blood products supply chain.

 

About you

 

You will have a degree together with extensive operational and strategic experience within a specialist field, given your knowledge and experience of supply chain planning to postgraduate level. You will definitely have a proven track record of managing and motivating people to deliver corporate business objectives. Experience of leading successful change initiatives will be vital.

 

Your strong IT skills will include proficiency in the use of spreadsheets, word processing, project management, process mapping, and statistical software packages. This will enable you to work with financial activity, and performance information to inform your management strategy.
