University Hospitals of Leicester are looking for dedicated professional Paediatric Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners for the Theatre Recovery Unit; which specialises in delivering high quality post-operative patient care to patients having undergone various surgeries. Patients may have high clinical dependency needs requiring extended stays in recovery before being discharged to their relevant wards. Although this is a paediatric post training would be given to ensure band 5's have the skills to look after adult post operative patients as well as paediatrics.

Leicester has recently transformed the patient's Theatre journey by introducing a new purpose built Theatre arrivals area; and refurbishing its Theatres and Advanced Recovery units. Enabling UHL to provide opportunities to the successful candidate which enhance your skills in delivering high quality patient centered care.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team therefore, team working and communication skills are vital to ensure a positive experience for our patients. Working with postoperative patients requires staff to provide a comforting atmosphere and as such you will need to be motivated, caring and approachable.

We offer a supernumerary period to all new starters within recovery and are proud of the development opportunities we provide which include the band 5-6 development program; which teaches you the skills required to progress in your career to band 6 level.
