Ward Clerk

Job Reference: 358-2132951-ESM

University Hospitals of Leicester
Acute Medicine, Leicester Royal Infirmary
£17,652 - £19,020 per annum

We're looking for friendly, self-motivated individuals to join our team of Ward Clerks.

The successful applicants will work within a large team of experienced administrators, supporting the provision of high-quality patient care across the new Emergency Floor at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.

Our new, multi-million pound Emergency Floor comprises the Emergency Department (ED & EDU) and Acute Medicine (Acute Assessment Units, GPAU, DVT Clinic, and General Medicine Clinics), all based at the LRI site.

The Emergency Floor is a very busy and demanding working environment, but the successful applicants will join a strong & supportive team.

Our Ward Clerks work as part of a team on a 7 day, 24 hour shift pattern which requires working a mixture of days, nights and Bank Holidays.

Successful applicants will be required to work on their own initiative, managing their own workload, as well as being part of a team.

Applicants must be computer literate, and have excellent communication & customer service skills. Experience of working in an NHS environment would be an advantage.

A working knowledge of Track It, Nerve Centre and Patient Centre would be beneficial, however comprehensive training will be provided for all successful applicants.

For further details / informal visits contact:

We will close vacancies prior to the published closing date if we receive a sufficient number of application forms.

Preference will be given in the first instance to existing NHS employees within the East Midlands healthcare community who are ‘at risk’ of redundancy. Such employees within the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust will be considered first.”
