Revised Pay Progression Framework

With effect from 1st April 2019, all new starters to the Trust or existing staff who are appointed to a new role of a higher band (promotion) will be subject to the new Pay Progression Framework that was agreed as part of the 2018 NHS Pay Deal.

Under the new arrangements, automatic annual salary increments have been replaced with ‘pay steps’. In order for staff to progress through their ‘pay step’, they will be required to attend a pay step review meeting and meet the criteria for pay progression.

As Head of Estates you will lead the Estates, Capital and Medical Engineering services. You will join us at an exciting time, as our new company, BWC Management Services Limited (BWCMS Ltd) has just been established in December 2017 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the outstanding Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust. We are at the start of the journey for the company, which was set up in response to the changing needs of the our estates and facilities functions and the sole focus of BWCMS Ltd is on the provision of excellent Estates, and Facilities services, and creating a great experience at work for our staff who provide these vital services which are fundemental to the NHS Foundation trust being able to deliver world class care.

All Estates, Medical Engineering and Medical Engineering staff are employed by BWCMS Ltd but are very much a part of the BWC family, working together to be ‘a world-leading team, providing world-leading care'. All profits made by the company’s trading activities are either reinvested in the business or returned to the Trust for reinvestment in health care services.

BWC is a teaching hospital and as such you may come into contact with students of many disciplines. Staff must comply with Trust policy and respective regulatory body requirements in relation to training and updating and fulfil duties of mentorship and assessment as required.
