BAND 5 STATIC Physiotherapist

Acute Medicine/Rapid Assessment and Discharge Service

Permanent Position - flexible working patterns considered

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic Band 5 Physiotherapist in a static position, to join our established team of medicine therapists who provide a service to the Acute Medicine wards and the Emergency Department.

You will complete timely assessments of patients referred to the service, with an aim to facilitate discharge from the acute setting as efficiently and effectively as possible. You will ensure excellent communication with patients, their relatives and carers, work effectively within a large multidisciplinary team and ensure adherence to the five Trust Values.

You will manage a caseload of patients with a variety of conditions including frail older adults, fractures, falls and cognitive impairment. Therefore this post would suit an individual with an interest in the management of older adults with complex needs.

You will have support to develop both your clinical and management skills from Clinical Specialist Physiotherapists and a Clinical Therapy Team Leader.

You will join a supportive team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and will receive regular supervision and appraisal to promote personal development. You will be actively encouraged to be involved in service development, audit and research within the team. There is also structured in-service training in place within the team which you will be encouraged to be involved with.

We provide a seven day service and have a roster system to cover weekend working and bank holidays.

For further details / informal visits contact:

Ann White/Sabrina Walker / (Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist) or Caroline Farthing ( Clinical Therapy Team Leader for Acute Medicine and RADs) – e-mail Tel 0116 2585053

We will close vacancies prior to the published closing date if we receive a sufficient number of application forms.

Preference will be given in the first instance to existing NHS employees within the East Midlands healthcare community who are ‘at risk’ of redundancy. Such employees within the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust will be considered first.”
