Description

Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice provides care and support for babies, children

and young people who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions (LLC),

living across north and central London. The majority of the children we

support are unlikely to reach their 18th birthday.

Our care team enable these children to have as high a quality of life, and death, as

possible. We support children to lead fulfilling lives and experience moments of real

joy, focusing on what they’re able to do, rather than on any perceived limitations. At

end-of-life, we provide them with compassion, dignity and comfort.

We also support families during their child’s life and help them to face the future with

hope after their child has died.

To complement our sector-renowned ‘Hospice-at-Home’ services, in late 2019 we

opened ‘The Ark’, a state-of-the-art children’s hospice building. In response to the

first Covid-19 peak, we launched The Ark’s In-Patient Unit (IPU) which enables

acute symptom management and 24-hour end-of-life care.

Requests for Noah’s Ark’s care are at an all-time high. There is an urgent need to

recruit more specialist nurses and carers to enable support for more of the seriously

unwell children who could be benefitting from the charity’s care.
