The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is one of the largest NHS Trusts in the West Midlands providing acute and community services, serving a large and diverse population across the Black Country and beyond.
Employing more than 8'000 staff, and with an annual turnover of £507 million, the Trust is the largest employer in the city providing services from the following locations;
• New Cross Hospital – acute and tertiary services, Maternity, Emergency, Critical Care, outpatients
• West Park Hospital – rehabilitation inpatient and day care services, therapy services and neuro- rehabilitation .
• Cannock Chase Hospital – elective orthopaedic inpatient and daycase, inpatient and daycase rehabiliatation, a range of daycase diagnostic and treatment services

More than 20 Community sites – community based services for adults and children including District Nursing, Health Visiting, School Nursing, Walk-in Centres and Minor Injury Service.
Nationally recognised for providing excellence in healthcare,, we are justifiably proud of our achievements to date. Patient safety and quality of care are at the top of our agenda. Our campaign to reduce Healthcare Acquired Infections and save lives has significantly improved the quality of service for our patients, with us achieving a national record of 1,180 days without an MRSA bacteraemia within the Organisation. We are home to the Wolverhampton Heart and Lung Centre, the busiest and most technologically advanced Cardiac Centre in the West Midlands consistently producing world class patient outcomes. It has heralded some world first procedures, such as the TAVI/EVAR and carried out the first robotic cardiac procedure in the United Kingdom.
We have a strong research focus with a research income of nearly £5 million.The Trust hosts the Clinical Research Network West Midlands (CRN WM), which is part of the National Institute for Health Research, the clinical research delivery arm of the NHS. The CRN WM helps to increase opportunities for patients to take part in clinical research, ensures that studies are carried out efficiently, and supports the Government’s Strategy for UK Life Sciences by improving the environment for commercial contract clinical research in the NHS in the West Midlands. It is the largest (by geography and population) of 15 local Networks across England and works with 29 NHS Trusts (100% of which are research-active) and 22 Clinical Commissioning Groups. It makes sure that clinical research occupies the place it deserves to in the day-to-day work of the NHS across the West Midlands locality. Since 1st April 2014 the Trust has also been host to the National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network West Midlands. The Clinical Research Network is the clinical research delivery arm of the NHS. It operates nationally across England through a national coordinating centre and 15 local branches delivering research in the NHS across all disease areas. The host is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of research in the Trusts, primary care organisations and other qualified NHS providers throughout the West Midlands area. The Board truly believes in innovation and translational research as drivers to improve patient care.
