NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) collects, tests, processes, stores and delivers blood, plasma and tissue to every NHS Trust in England and North Wales. We also match, allocate, audit and analyse organ donations across the whole of the UK as well as managing the British Bone Marrow Registry.

We retrieve and store other tissue, like skin and bone, ready for use in life-saving and life-improving situations, and also manufacture and provide plasma products such as clotting agents.

Our work is vitally important to the NHS and each year, our work enables 6,000 peoples' lives to be saved or dramatically improved by an organ or cornea transplant.

We are on a journey to be the best organisation of our type in the world. We have three overarching core values:

Caring – we care about our donors, their families, our staff and the patients we serve.

Expert – we are expert in meeting the needs of our external and internal customers and partners.

Quality – we provide quality of service, product and experience.

If you join us, you’ll have chosen to become part of a team that enables people in need to benefit from life-saving donations. This is a complex, evolving organisation that offers a breadth of inspiring and fulfilling opportunities.

We are passionate about creating an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity. We know through experience that different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds create a stronger and more creative work environment and help towards making NHSBT a great place to work for everyone. We welcome applications irrespective of people's age, disability, sex, gender identity and gender expression, race or ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation, neuro-diversity or other personal circumstances. We are particularly keen to hear from those currently under-represented in the organisation. We are committed to policies and procedures that ensure that all applicants are treated fairly and consistently at every stage of the recruitment process, including the consideration of reasonable adjustments for people who have a disability. If you would like an informal conversation, please do get in touch with the recruiting manager as listed on the advert.
