Wessex NHS Procurement Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust and Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The company provides end to end procurement and supply Chain services to hospitals in Basingstoke, Winchester and Southampton.

ABOUT THE TEAM

This is a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday). The team has achieved level 1 accreditation as awarded by the NHS skills development network as part of the department of health national standards of procurement.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Foster a highly professional and responsive client service approach and act as the main point of contact. Implement strategic sourcing and strong stakeholder management to maintain the lowest costs and strengthen existing relationships with key suppliers. Review, negotiate, re- negotiate and draft contracts for cost optimisation and deliver savings targets to support the performance improvement programme. Implement change, improvements and support to enable staff to deliver, enhance both yours and your team’s expertise and build procurement capability.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Significant and advanced procurement knowledge including:

  • EU procurement directives and UK legislation– implements and monitors policies and procedures relating to European law.
  • Understands and develops sustainable development strategies in collaborative partnerships
  • Project Management –large complex capital projects, involving stakeholders from many disciplines/departments in client organisations and suppliers.
  • Contract Management –management of multiple contracts to ensure best value for money high service levels.
  • Significant experience & understanding and application of Strategic Sourcing methodologies
