An exciting opportunity has arisen in our a central procurement team working across a diverse range of categories across product ranges and service delivery from; Medical Consumables & Equipment; Laundry & Janitorial & pharmaceuticals; Uniform Workwear & PPE: Fleet & Estates & IM&T and general corporate spend with a combined annual non-pay spend of around £80m.

The Procurement Manager is primarily responsible for the efficient and proactive management of the Procurement Service. This involves the operational management of the procurement team the Trust’s tendering process and contract management alongside the strategic supplier relationship management of the Trusts Suppliers, to reduce the risk in the supply chain supporting the Trust.

The Procurement Manager will take a leadership role, supporting the Head of Procurement in the overall running of Procurement where required and take a leadership role, as deputy to the Head of Procurement, representing the department and the Trust both internally, at Directors’ groups and committees and externally at regional or national procurement initiatives.

Key Result Areas:

1. Implement strategic category procurement plans to support the operational needs of the Trust.

2. Lead projects, such as Cost Improvement Projects (CIPS) to deliver savings targets.

3. Ensure the Trust’s compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, including Caldicott, Data protection, EU Regulations and UK Legislation

4. Manage the Trusts key suppliers to ensure the supply chain is robust and risk is reduced.

This is a great opportunity for someone to be involved in the changes we are working towards recommended in the Lord Carter’s efficiency report and central NHS procurement initiatives.

If you are an experienced public sector procurement specialist, preferably MCIPS qualified, with strong team and relationship management skills you will be a strong candidate.
