The procurement and supply chain team is seeking an experienced Procurement specialist to work closely with our procurement managers, head of procurement and with the Trust’s clinical and corporate departments to undertake sourcing activity, support our contract management and supplier relationship programme and deliver against the Trust’s challenging Cost Improvement Programme.

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust provides services to some 1.3 million people living in Southampton and South Hampshire, plus specialist services such as neurosciences, cardiac services and children's intensive care to more than 3 million people in Central Southern England and the Channel Islands. The Trust is also a major centre for teaching and research in association with the University of Southampton and partners including the Medical Research Council and Wellcome Trust.

The post holder will be working across key clinical categories with Procurement Managers to manage and support a portfolio of category based contracts and strategic projects. The post holder will be CIPS or degree qualified, have a detailed understanding of procurement procedures, including EU tendering, and have proven experience of delivering savings and managing complex projects and relationships.

It is essential that you possess excellent organisational skills, have the ability to communicate at all levels and have a flexible approach to work. The post requires a professional, motivated and enthusiastic approach to the role.
