Band 4 Buyer

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is embarking on an ambitious programme of investment in procurement and supply chain management. Critical to this is investment in capability and capacity within the procurement function.

We are looking to recruit a Buyer who will form a key link within the Procurement Departments’ operational team with responsibility for supporting transactions and supplier engagement. Buyers will provide support to the Purchase-to-Pay process managing catalogue content, supporting and advising stakeholders with all types of procurement activity, end user training, and processing as required, engaging with the supply market.

The Buyer will ensure that goods and services are obtained in the most cost effective manner and provide a source of information and specialist advice to customers and generally act as a focal point for all communication with suppliers and commercial representatives

The role is an entry point into a larger career within procurement with routes into systems, supply chain and market engagement .

The ability to prioritise, engage with colleagues, technology literacy and basic understanding of procurement processes is essential. The applicant should have experience in a similar role, or an academic qualification that is relevant to the role eg CIPS. The applicant should have interest in working in the NHS but experience of working in the NHS or wider public sector is not essential.

The Trust is one of the largest Trusts in the country with five sites in West London.
