A new Band 6 opportunity has arisen within LPFT’s IPS Employment Service to support the service expansion and development.

The IPS Service provides support in finding and retaining paid employment for people with a severe and enduring mental health conditions.

The role of the Senior Employment Specialist will be to provide supervision and support to the IPS team members who are based across the county within Adult CMHTS.

The postholder will provide Individual Placement and Support (IPS) to a caseload of service users and assist the other Employment Specialists with complex case management.

As this is a developing service, the postholder will also work closely with the Service Lead to further develop / expand the service.

This post requires both enthusiasm and a commitment towards supporting people with mental health conditions to find paid employment. This includes working collaboratively with a wide range of employers and relevant agencies and partners from the statutory, voluntary and business sectors, internal and external to the Trust.

An understanding of the benefits of employment as part of the recovery process and a positive attitude to enabling service users overcome barriers to finding employment, are essential. The post will involve working in the community and require the ability to work autonomously, working closely with Adult CMHT teams across the Trust in Lincolnshire.

You will be educated to degree level or hold equivalent experience in the field of supported employment, have knowledge of the national employment and welfare benefits agenda; and have skills and recent experience of working with people with mental health conditions. You must be willing to undertake training in the model of IPS, an evidence-based intervention used by the service.

LPFT holds the ‘Centre of IPS Excellence Status’ with the Centre for Mental Health, one of only 20 organisations in the country.

We offer 24 hour services within our Inpatient, Crisis and SPA teams, if you are successfully appointed to posts in these areas or others that might have specified, you will be required to work unsociable hours and shift patterns.

Preference will be given to NHS colleagues who are currently 'at risk' and meet the minimum criteria of the Job Description & Person Specification.
