The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust wishes to appoint 4 Consultant Geriatricians in innovative posts shared between The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and The West London NHS Trust Intermediate and Community Care Team


We are offering 4 Consultant posts in an innovative collaboration between the Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the West London NHS Trust. These posts are combined posts offering experience in Frailty, Acute Geriatric Medicine, Interface Geriatrics, Community medicine, and Rehabilitation. These posts offer an exciting opportunity to join an expanding enthusiastic team of Geriatricians. Our department has an excellent track record in service development, transformation, and integrated working across departments and across the organisation. We are keen for candidates interested in service development and improvement to expand and support the development of our departments in Hillingdon and Ealing.


Joining our Hillingdon Team provides a unique opportunity for joint working across boundaries as we move into an Accountable Care Partnership (Hillingdon Health and Care Partners- HHCP) between the Acute Trust, Central and North West London Foundation Trust who provide community and mental health services, Hillingdon GP federation and the Voluntary Sector (H4All) to provide outcome based care for the over 65 population in Hillingdon. We envisage increased development of specialist services jointly provided by all 4 partners in HHCP especially in admission prevention, falls, fracture liaison service, ESD and care home liaison. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to be involved in this work with support from an established and supportive team.


We are currently developing our academic links with the nearby Brunel University with a vision towards setting up and driving forward an academic health campus with close links between the University and Hillingdon Hospitals Trust. The trust is already involved with the Physicians Associate program run through Brunel


The West London Trust’s Intermediate Care Team sits within the wider partnership of Ealing Community Partners. The local providers for the partnership includes West London NHS Trust as the lead provider together with Central & North West London NHS Foundation Trust and The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The partnership also consists of various other organisations of local interest.


The post holders will participate in the on-call emergency medical rota on an approximately 1:18 basis.

The department has 10 substantive consultant geriatricians with sub-speciality interests in frailty, acute geriatric medicine, interface geriatrics, surgical liaison, continence, orthogeriatrics, dementia and community geriatrics.

The post will be based at The Hillingdon Hospital, Ealing Hospital, Ealing Community and Clayponds Community Hospital.
