Band 3 Therapy Technician

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, with some previous experience working within healthcare or social services, to work with the inpatient therapists on the Complex Elderly Rehabilitation Wards at Woking and Walton Community Hospitals.

The successful applicant will be working with the qualified Therapists providing rehabilitation to patients on the wards. The role involves working with the team to assist patients to live as independently as possible and to help to ensure a safe discharge home.

Therapy Assistants are responsible for undertaking some elements of the treatment programmes that have been planned by qualified staff (Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists).

Applicants must have:
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Knowledge and experience of working within the NHS system
• Previous experience of working in a health care or rehabilitation environment and of working in a team
• Capacity to work within a fast-pace ward environment which can be physically demanding
• A pro-active, flexible and adaptable approach
• IT and organisational skills


The successful applicant will be based at Walton and Woking Community Hospitals and will need to be flexible to work across both hospitals, as required by service needs, and to be able to travel between hospital sites and to other locations within the community (car driver preferred).

As a valued member of the team, we’ll offer you support and supervision to develop the skills to implement rehabilitation treatment programmes and support therapists with discharge-planning.

We have an in-service training programme, as well as regular clinical supervision and an annual appraisal scheme.

Terms and conditions are based on current NHS terms with access to the NHS pension scheme.

This is a full-time post, working Monday – Friday, 8.00am to 4.00pm, and will also include weekend working. Applications for part-time and bank staff may also be considered.

 




Recruitment - Golden Hello

Successful applicants, who have not worked for CSH within the last 12 months, will receive an amount of £2000 paid in two instalments: - £1000 upon commencement and a further £1000 following successful completion of probation. These payments are pro-rata for part- time posts.
